Exit....Stage Right-Termination Tuesday Folks-Right Here In Red Oak!

Exit....Stage Right!

Well folks, it was Termination Tuesday Tonight at 7:00 P.M. at Red Oak Municipal Building.

The meeting was short and sweet and hopefully so will be this blog entry.

The meeting was called to order and your Mayor Bryce laid "da' law down for we common folk". Like it was followed anyway.

The first person on the Red Oak "scaffold" was the ex-City Attorney. She probably read the writing on the wall and was tried and terminated in absentia. Eric Smith proved to the gallery that he was pretty P.O'd about the performance of both the City Attorney and Manager and opened the ball with a forceful motion to terminate.

Scott Lindsay read one of his two prepared "extemporaneous" speeches and tried to appeal to the "hardened hearts" of the other Councilpersons. Eric Smith would have none of it and put the theatrics to bed. The stage was set and the vote was taken...Smith (YES), Goodwyn (YES), Lindsey (NO), Hargrove (YES), Bell (NO...I think...he was nearly invisible during the entire night).

Retraction Notice And Public Apology From Steve Miller

(I received a comment from a blogger that told me using Bert and Ernie graphically was associated with someone being GAY. I did not know about any association like this. I would not EVER associate Scott Lindsey or ANYONE ELSE in this light. He is an honorable, professional person that works hard FOR kids in R.O.I.S.D. I apologize to ALL whom were offended and thank the Anonymous blogger for the information. I have taken the graphic off the original posting.)

Second on the Proscribed List was the City Manager, Ken Pfiefer (see picture left-you choose). The discussion was brief and Scott Lindsey (see previous picture) read another "please keep politics out of an obviously political meeting" (duh...get a clue please and QUIT READING...I'VE HEARD YOU SPEAK FROM THE HEART....YOU CAN DO IT!) The Council was swayed as much as the audience. The motion was made. The vote was...you guessed it....wait for it....

Eric Smith (YES), Ben Goodwyn (YES), Scott Lindsey (NO), Casey Hargrove (YES), Bell (No I think again...he really is a shrinking violet in this group of Council persons)

At the end of the night, the city political structure had totally changed. No longer will the City Manager rule with an iron fist management approach. No longer can Little Toddie influence and motivate/demotivate the Council from afar; although, he was skittering around Council chambers, flashing those pearly whites, shaking even Goodwyn's hand, yukking it up. What a transparent display of "cheesy-ness".

Mayor Bryce was exposed again as a toothless tiger, unable to exert any influence upon the Council. He stands isolated politically and is quite ineffective in a leadership position at this point. That's unfortunate but he made his bed by supporting the opponents of Hargrove and Goodwyn in the election. "Little Brown Bell" campaign slogan now sounds an awful lot like the Monty Python line from "Holy Grail"..."What does a bell made of @#$t sound like? Dung........."

Steve, how do you get the images/photos to be placed alongside the text? Is that text wrap of some sort?

Everyone that wanted Ken removed got their wish tonight. I agree with the removal, I just disagree with the way City Council handled the matter. These people made it personal and that is not what is best for the city. I do give Casey credit for staying around afterwards and talking to all that wanted to ask him questions, the other two individuals that voted to remove Ken left the building before the gavel was on the desk. Was this best for the city? I feel it really was. Was the way it was handled best for the city? No it was not. That is my Opinion!!!
So far this last election has cost the jobs of Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, a LT. on the Police force (which should get his job back according to certain individuals in the Police dept. and council room). Jobs also lost include the City Attorney and City Manager and one of the candidates that ran for Place 2! That brings one election to 6 jobs and I am sure that once the new manager and Chief are on board there will be more openings to go around. They already have in mind to feel two positions with campaign promises.

So please stay tuned to the next two to three years, several people are already throwing their hats in the arena!!! Will Ron return for a re-election or will the current council chase him away? Only Mayor Bryce can decide!

Who in Ran for place 2 that lost their job? And why did they?

Jeff Smith,
I am so glad that you did not win. You and your wife can't seem to decide what team you are on. One minute you are bad mouthing Ben and Casey and the next you are backing them. If you can not decide who you're friends with, you surely can't decide anything good for the city.

Steve, I see that you are very talented when it comes to putting pictures with your blogs, but could you please explain to me, what a picture of Bert and Ernie has to do with Scott Lindsey? Because I would hate to think that you are trying to put negative ideas about people on here, especially with you being a "teacher" and all. I have heard several say that people use Bert and Earnie as a way of saying "gay". I hope that you are not trying to say that Scott is, because that would not be very professional of you. And I am sure that the district that you are now working for does not need the negative feed back. Especially when you started your own site to get away from negative things. I told my friends that there was no way you would ever try to put that kind of message out there. Please tell me that I am right!?!

Who said that we are backing Casey? Just ask me and I will tell you what I am thinking, instead you will stand there with Mrs. Little and mouth at stuff instead of finding out the truth. I do not like how Casey and Ben did what they did. I feel that was wrong and that they just set the city back several years, and that is if no lawsuits are filed.

According to the city charter the meeting last should not be an official record, but you will just make anon comments instead of checking into stuff first. How does it feel being on the outside complaining and not having any clue of what is going on?

No GAY message was intended at all. I never knew Bert and Ernie were associated with being GAY. Live and learn. Thanks for the update. My intent was to poke fun at Scott not to say he is GAY. I know better from personal/professional interaction. I'll take that graphic off the blog if I can still edit it and/or print a retraction on that part of the article now.

I've posted a retraction and apology on the original post and here...please check the original post...

Jeff,
Excuse me, but I don't even know Ms. Little, and I sure as hell was not standing next to her mouthing anything. So, get your information straight if you are going to accuse me of something. If I wanted to talk to you and get your opinion, I would act like a man and come talk to you. I would never hide behind a woman. But since I don't care to hear you, I will just stand back and watch. I have learned in the past, you learn more if you just keep your mouth shut and let others run theirs. And from what I have seen from you, you are doing a great job without me helping you.

Thanks for taking that offensive picture off, I was really shocked to see it on here. I know it is sad that people can take characters off childrens show and make them bad, but adults these days must keep in the loop when it comes to using these "double meanings" figures. It's crap like that that gets people sued. And I don't think we would want to add anymore problems to what we already have around here.

I'm curious about the city attorney. A google search turned up her name as the city attorney for Red Oak, Burleson, and River Oaks in the last 2 years. Can you be the city attorney for several cities at once?

Anonymous said...

Ask Joey Dauben...he will know

Many city att. work for several cities at a time

Anonymous # 7 that is talking to Jeff about being a man and not hiding behind a woman...Jeff would not know how to do that, because it's very apparent who wears the pants in that family. He is always hiding behind her and her mouth.

Hey...tone down the personal flame

Thanks!

Steve, what needs to be toned down? You are always flaming the littles on here, what is the difference? I know, it's because Jeff is hanging with ya'll now...no other reason is needed, sorry to bother ya.

Are you on crak? I didn't like the tone of the flame. I asked the tone to be turned down a little. My judgement call...my party.

Jeff hangin' with me? WTH are you talking about? I don't "hang" with anyone in Red Oak. Most of my "hangers" live in Plano or North Dallas. I do have several acquaintances in Red Oak but since I'm Ben and Casey's "hack" you'd know them anyway right? :<)

Whatever...
